Vickie Brown
Vickie Brown is the owner, operator and founder of Ice Body Skin Care, a skin product specializing in providing relief to those who struggle with various skin issues. Originally hailing from Atlanta, Brown and her family made the move to Oakland in January of 2017 in pursuit of new beginnings. As an Air Force veteran, mother of three, and grandmother of two, Brown started Ice Body out of necessity for her own children’s skin care needs. In 2015, after multiple attempts to use over-the-counter creams, treatments, and products, she opted to create her own solution to provide relief. After spending time trying and retrying recipes, mixtures, and methods, she was successful in developing a solution for her family. Brown’s daughter took initiative and officially began the business before leaving for college, and by this time, news had begun to spread about her results. It quickly became apparent; she needed to produce at a higher volume. Soon, friends and family began to offer to buy her products; and Ice Body Skincare was born!
Since her move to Oakland five years ago, Brown has intentionally focused on connecting meaningfully with the San Francisco community by regularly hosting pop-ups in the City, as well as in Oakland and San Jose. Brown is determined to ensure Ice Body’s products are free of chemicals, synthetics, and preservatives, and can be used by people of any skin type or tone. Ice Body creates organically-based solutions for sufferers of eczema, psoriasis, and dry skin. Her decision to focus on smaller batches has allowed her to retain the high quality of her product, whose popularity has propelled Ice Body to a feature in Ellements Magazine. Vickie Brown and Ice Body skincare look forward to opening in and serving the San Francisco Fillmore district, and beyond.
