These paintings depict scenes of daily life and abstract patterns from Ghana. All hand-painted on canvas, made by artisans in Ghana.

Painting 1: This depicts fishermen going out to make the daily catch. Fish is a staple in Elmina. It is smoked, fried, and steamed. The sea and all that it provides is greatly respected. As a way to give the sea a rest, no fishing is done on Tuesdays.

Painting 2: This depicts the fishermen returning home to their coastal village after a hard day's work.

Painting 3: This painting is an abstract pattern consisting of colorful brush strokes with black dots across the canvas.

Painting 4: This painting depicts two women carrying their babies while preparing what may be shea butter, the tree of which is native to Ghana and has a long history of culinary, cosmetic, and medicinal use.
