Dreamer Boyz began in May 2022 by Joseph Broussard, a San Francisco Fillmore district native. Growing up, Broussard was very close to his mother and younger brother, both of whom laid the foundation for him as a young kid, and influenced his early exposure to the Culture. Tragically, his mother lost her life in 2009, and his younger brother transitioned in 2017. Expectedly, the huge losses affected Broussard greatly. He began to develop his Dreamer Boyz in their honor, with the main goal being to instill a feeling of encouragement, empowerment, focus, confidence, and strength in those who wear his items. By combating seldom discussed issues like lack of direction, Broussard hopes to remind people of the royal heritage and of their “innate ability to innovate.” Broussard is intentional with his messaging due to the lack of platforms that exist to discuss prevalent issues in the black and brown community, such as mental health, physical health, and available resources for community advancement. As the brand grows, Broussard will be focusing on raising people’s consciousness by waking them up to the reality of their power, as he continues to be a consistent positive resource for the people of San Francisco.
